화가3 Drawing I (1) 내 나이 13-14살 중학생 나이쯤 되었을 때의 일이다. 아버지는 내게 장래 직업이 될만한 기술을 가르쳐야겠다고 생각하셨던 모양이다. 하루는 내게 시계수리와 그림 중 어느 것을 배우고 싶으냐고 물었다. 그림쟁이는 밥 먹고 살기 어렵다고 들은 것이 있어, 시계수리를 배우겠노라고 했다. 아버지도 그 답을 기대하셨던 모양이다. 얼마 후 길 건너 시계 수리점의 주인에게서 시계수리를 배우기 시작했다. 난 시계수리에 재미를 붙이지 못했고, 소아마비로 왼쪽 엄지손가락을 잘 쓰지 못해 정교한 작업을 제대로 할 수 없었다. 결국 시계수리 공부는 몇 달 후 흐지부지 되고 말았다. 그때 아버지에게 그림 공부를 하겠다고 말하지 못한 것을 두고두고 후회했다. 나이가 들고 시간의 여유가 생기자 그림 공부에 대한 욕구가 다시 생겨.. 2022. 4. 18. 58.
