장애인 복지3 '장애인의 날'이 없는 나라 4월 20일, 한국은 ‘장애인의 날’이다. 이런저런 날이 수없이 많은 미국이지만 장애인의 날은 없다. 미국뿐 아니라 복지가 발달한 선진국 중 장애인의 날이 있는 국가는 한국, 일본, 중국 정도라고 한다. 한국에는 장애인의 날만 있는 것이 아니다. 장애인 화장실, 장애인 전용 엘리베이터, 장애인 학교, 장애인 센터, 장애인 시설 등 장애인 딱지가 붙은 것이 많다. 그럼에도 불구하고 정작 장애인 복지는 후진국 수준을 넘지 못하고 있다. “장애인 전용”이 많다는 것은 얼핏 장애인을 배려하는 듯 보이지만, 실은 장애인을 배척한다는 의미일 수도 있다. 화장실 문을 크게 하고 입구에 턱을 없애면 장애인도 함께 쓸 수 있다. 공간이 넉넉한 엘리베이터를 설치하면 장애인도 함께 탈 수 있다. 장애인과 함께 쓰는 것이 거.. 2022. 4. 21. 48.
